Artist Statement In my work I have used a variety of media in both installation and performance to express the cultural duality that I experience. I work with light, space, sound, movement and stillness. The nuance of movement and the passage of time are always my concern. I have been working on various site-specific installations that integrate my work into public spaces. The installations I design often encourage a viewer to experience rather than to be a spectator. The viewer acts as performer in my work, both completing and bringing it to artistic life. My growth as an artist is linked to a twin exploration of culture, and of what creates the beauty around us, focusing on multi-cultural and environmental concerns.
